Much like a wedding, a christening or Baptism isn’t just about the ceremony – it also includes a party or reception afterwards. It’s a chance to catch up with friends and for everyone to meet your baby. It can be as simple as afternoon tea with cakes right through to a three-course sit down meal.

This means that, if you wish, you can hold a Baby Naming Ceremony within the beautiful surroundings of this Scarborough hotel itself, giving you the opportunity to create a your own special ceremony to welcome your new child.

Every ceremony is personal to you and your child. Supporting Adults or Mentors (who may be friends or family) take the place of the traditional Christian Godparents and declare a pledge to be there for the child throughout their life, whenever their help is needed.
